Interesting People Interesting Conversations, A Podcast

Podcasting is something I’ve enjoyed for years. I was pretty heavily involved with one of the most important annual events in the scholarly communication realm, The Charleston Conference, and their media wing, ATG Media. I did podcasts with industry experts for ATG the Podcast, was editor in chief of a brief book series called The Charleston Briefings, wrote articles for Against the Grain, and gave presentations and helped a bit to organize at the conference.

Now that I have moved on to be an independent, I’m going to use the skills I developed as a podcaster for ATG to create my own podcast called Interesting People Interesting Conversations.

Here’s the description:

I once ran across a guy in an Irish bar in Budapest and he was telling me about…”

It’s as simple as that. Over decades of travel I’ve run across fascinating people wherever I’ve gone. Sitting on the bench of a truck hauling through the mountains; on a bus between cities; at a meditation retreat; or on the barstool next to me.

A couple of strangers meet on the road, have a couple of hours of fascinating conversation, and then part, never to meet again.

And that’s the podcast, too. Except we record it.

A Podcast With Matthew Ismail.

I’m currently learning how to use the editing tools I need to create the podcast, but expect to post the first episode in the next month or two. Pop over to my Interesting People Interesting Conversations website and have a look!
